Hello to anyone that has popped in ..Scrapbook Magazine UK issue 59 is out,although I still don't have my hands on a copy and can share my layouts.This issue was to design a sketch,not my favorite topic but never the less I gave it a go and enjoyed doing this challenge.

Here is my sketch

I did two layouts and flipped the sketch around.

This layout I did 2 photo's as per sketch.

This layout is using one 5 by 7 photo and the sketch flipped .

My next DT assignment for UK Scrapbook Magazine was to design a sketch and to do 2 layouts.
I can't share all of it yet but I can do a sneek peek....
Once the magazine is out I can share the whole layout.

My baby boy turned 9 in September we celebrated with family and friends.Hayden is footy mad so ofcourse he had a footy cake made by my bestie "Mary"one very clever lady!

My big baby boy is no longer a baby..my baby is now 11 years old!! How did that happen so quickly Dylan celebrated his 11 th Bday on July 31st..(yes I know I'm a bad blogger...woops!!)...

And his wonderful cake

Tasted as good as it looks.. :)

My other baby boy Hayden AKA- younger son,broke his arm back in July as well.After taking the boys to the skate park,Hayden decided to attempt the foam pit jumping in with his skooter and threw the skooter on top of his head..(lucky for the helmet ) he raised his arm up and BANG the skooter lands on his arm breaking it...ouch!! All healed now plaster is off and he hasn't complained that it is sore.

Here's a photo of Haydes & me on the train the day after he broke his arm.

Hopefully I will be back with some creative things!

Wow it's been awhile!Wondering if anyone still pops in to visit..
Life is very hectic at the minute between school runs,weekend sports,working and running a online business...yep you can say it's hectic!! The days where I would love to scrap now gets taken up with cleaning the house and basically anything else that comes up..
I do have a share..FINALLY..I can show.
While being on the Scrapbook Magazine Design Team..I have a OTP Album in there..issue 56 pages 30 to 35...I know a few pages how exciting !! Make your own Album tutorial.

And here I am...

In the Magazine you fill find step by step instructions of how to make this very easy Album .
This is the album made out of material.

Pages are made from felt and cover is made from cardboard covered in fabric.
The album is a great easy way to use up any photo's lying around...I'm hoping to get back into some scrapbooking..I think I have lost my mojo!

I was lucky enough to have a layout accepted for Scrapbooking Memories Mag...it was accepted a while ago..and finally it's in print..woohoo!

Did I scare you!
My poor old blog is feeling a little not loved.I hope everyone had a great Easter..we went camping for one week.We had lot's of fun!We froze at night ...brrrr! So maybe next time we will be staying in a tent during warmer weather.On a scrapping note I have a layout going into next months Scrapbook Memories so I will share that one once the mag is out :) ..and my other DT work with Scrapbook Magazine is still a few issues away ..

But in the mean time............................

My boys got to play in a grid game on the school holidays ETIHAD Stadium...I even got to go on the ground..with my camera...so yes I was the paparazzi mum taking non stop shots..hehehe!

Scrap Jacked -March Challenge

After Blog hopping I came across Scrap Jacked,I don't normally do Challenges but this one seems like alot of fun..and has some stunning layouts on there.So I deciced to have a play.All you need to do is scraplift one Dt's layout by either a card.OTP or layout.
I did a layout and after umming and rrrrrring (I could'nt decide :) ) I scraplifted "Lisa's Layout".
This is what I came up with~

The photo is of "Hayden" when he was about 3...finger painting on the concrete.I was so glad that I finally scrapped it.It such a cute pic of him :).

A fun class...and other things!

Gee's it's been awhile since my last post.I wonder if anybody still pops into my much unloved blog :(...I have been busy doing bits and pieces around here..some things I have made but can't show yet, due to DT assignments.But I had a class on Friday with a bunch of gorgeous ladies..Thanks so much to you all for coming.I hope you had fun! This class we did a set of frames that can be hung on the wall.

I have also started a camera course ..so I can know how to use my new camera.I must admit at the first lesson it was pretty overwhelming and hard to understand the camera language..but it is slowly sinking in!

I scrapped!!!
It feels like forever..I can't remember the last time I scrapped.I finally had some time to myself so after giving the scrap desk a clean up...I pulled out some photo's and my mojo started coming back. :)

Last months class was so much fun!So here are the details for the next one...
We are doing a OTP set of frames,fantastic for a scrap room,kids room even a present for that someone special.Theme for this project is beach,pool,summer,fun photo's they will work well with the papers.
WHEN-FRIDAY MARCH 18TH
TIME-7PM TILL 10PM
COST-$25
The cost includes all papers,embellishments.
We will be painting,cutting,sticking and you will learn a few techniques along the way.
You will need to bring your cutter,cutting knife & photo's (more details will be emailed to those that book in)
Coffee,Tea available on the night.

XMAS PHOTO'S

Nows the time to scrap those 2010 Christmas photo's ,Love Scrappin' DT ladies have had some fun playing with the gorgeous Pink Paislee-Father Christmas range,we thought it would be a better idea to do Xmas layouts after Xmas!
Both Sharmaine & Leanne have shared a technique or tip with there layouts.
Here is Leanne's Layouts-

Leanne's technique is Fussy cutting ~ these papers were perfect for it!!
And her tip is~
"my tip for fussy cutting is to use a sharp craft knife and a glass cutting board. The paper spins easily and the blade "slips" on the glass whereas they dig in on the self healing mats. Glass chopping boards from Woolworth (approx $6) are perfect."
And here is Sharmaine's Layout-

Sharmaine's technique was making scrolls~
"I rolled some of the pattern paper to make scrolls that I tied string around.
I used a plastic stick to roll the paper over, making it easier to control, and then just added some double sided tape to hold each scroll together. Love that it just adds dimension and colour so simply."
There you go some easy ,fun ways to get some dimensions to your layouts!
Hope we have inspired you to get those 2010 Xmas Photo's out and scrapped.....

My first class for this year was on Friday.It was so much fun ..even though the poor ladies were stranded and drove through lots of flash flooding to get here..now that's determination..hehehe! But apart from all that we had a fantastic night and everyone's layouts were just gorgeous.

Finally I can share some news.Last year I was asked by Lindsey Hopkins the Editor of the UK magazine called "Scrapbook Magazine " to be part of there DT team..Of course I was stoked and took up the offer.
I was asked to do 2 layouts,theme was older siblings and I had to have some paper tearing on my layout.
Here's the front cover ...one of my layouts are on that too :)

Whos' Interested???In Scrapbooking classes in a relax atmosphere.No need to worry about parking the hustle and bustle of shopping centres.After a few enquiry's about~ if and when am I doing classes,I have finally organized my first class.So if you are local to Love Scrappin' ie-Beaconsfield area and want learn scrapbooking layouts..then contact me.The first class is going to run early Feb and at this stage ..I'm happy to do classes during the day 10am until 1pm or Friday nights 7pm until 10.30pm.Normally with the classes all your products will be included all you need to do is bring your tools.Classes will vary from $25 onwards ,it will depend on what we do.The first class will be a Christmas Layout with learning a few techniques along the way.

2011....2011.....2011,I just wanted to say it a few times! My first post for 2011...and what a good year it's going to be I can feel it.We celebrated the New Year at home with some close friends and family,the weather was beautiful and it ended up being a gorgeous night.I am dying to do some scrappin'...just waiting for my mojo to return I think it's still stuck in 2010...hehehe!
Guess what I got for Christmas??
My DH got me a ~

I got a Sony A55...I'm still learning how to use it..if any one knows any tips etc please share!
So now I'm hoping for a year full of gorgeous photo's that I actually get developed...I'm such a slacker when it comes to that!
Well I hope your Year has started off with a bang...Here's to a year full of Scrappin',creating and hopefully lots of mojo.....

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

Where has this year gone? Can someone please tell me,I feel like I have blinked and it's nearly over.We had lots of changes this year..we moved into our new home that my DH built and it felt like we would never finish ,but we got there in the end and what a great achievement for us,sometimes I feel like we really don't appreciate the work and sweat and tears that went into building our home...as life is busy and there is always other things we worry about.My beautiful 2 boys started a new school..and for those that know me I'm not very good with change ..but it was the best move we did they are so happy there and have settled in really well..and now it's nearly Christmas ...so the tree is up ,pressies are wrapped and we are looking forward until Santa visits us.I have a few random pics ..

I painted up the Kaiser 3D flourish tree and used pearls on the birds.

I 'm going to use the tree as a table decoration on Chrissy day.

I also wanted to share my new camera ~

I ended up buying one from the US couldn't find one here..I love it !

Now I have instant photo's that I can scrap and make mini albums with.

Unlock Your Story

I was lucky enough to do a online class with Elizabeth Kartchner~ AKA Dear Lizzy.This class was everything I thought it would be and more.Absolutely loved it!Being on line I could do it in my own time,the class was in 10 lessons including videos of Lizzy demonstrating step by step instructions..and I also received a kit with everything included.It was fantastic the best class I have ever done...this women is such a inspiration to me I can't wait to do another one.

I wish I had more to time to scrap,I wish that the days didn't fly by like they have been,I wish sometimes I could blink and dinner was cooked and the house was clean.I wish I had a new camera~(I'm saving up for one),I wish I could go to the Carribean on a holiday~maybe one day...Gees I have lot's of wishes ..I could go on...I do have a layout to share.

Finished projects make me happy and what was even better ...it didn't take that long.I decided to have a play with some materials and the American Craft -Dear Lizzy fabric papers...I totally love it the fabric papers are so easy to use and the best thing is... it's self adhesive.
I made this album from scratch using a piece of cardboard and covered with material.So EASY!!

On the inside I covered it with white Bazzill

I also used felt as my inside pages,the theme of the album was my birthday.

I can't believe how the days are just flying by..October already it's nearly time to start thinking about that "C" word...yep Christmas..well I've been scrapping but I can only share a little sneek peek at the moment..I was lucky enough to be asked to do a couple of layouts for the UK Scrapbook Magazine for issue 51..

I will share the whole layout once the magazine is out.

School holidays has finished here in Victoria..we got to go to the Melb Show...we had this funny old man follow us around the whole time...LOL

Scrappers Tote Bag

I am very excited to welcome a new company to Love Scrappin'.Those that know me I like to support local talent..Please welcome "SEW ECLECTIC" ..If your anything like me I tend to take a "whatever bag" with me to crops..well why not take something that matches your personalitity ,something that is different to the rest,something funky...hehehe!After a few discussons with SEW ECLECTIC in the style I wanted for a tote bag...this is what they came up with.

This unique HAND MADE scrappers tote is one of a kind and features 2 internal pockets,one for essentials and the other for pens,brushes,scissors etc.It has a removable base it's roomy enough for 12 x 12 papers,cutter,mini caddy,basically your scrappin necessities.The material used is Heather Bailey-Fresh Fusion.Its approx 46cm wide by 38cm deep ,handle27cm.It also features a hand made frayed flower closure.

How to make a vintage banner

DT member Leanne had a play with KUT IT OUT chipboard banners and this is what she came up with...
You will need-
Supplies:
Kut it Out Banner Chipboard
Glimmermist
Alphas
Dimensional Magic

Step 1-
Paint Glimmermist around edge of large banner pieces. Paint entire surface of small banner pieces with Glimmermist.

Step 2-
Apply alphas to small banner pieces.

Step 3-
Apply a thin coat of Dimensional Magic. Allow to dry. Bend chipboard to “crack” Dimensional Magic. Apply a second coat of Dimensional Magic. Allow to dry. A deeper vintage finish can be achieved by rubbing ink over the cracked Dimensional Magic. Remove excess ink before applying second coat of Dimensional Magic.

Step 4-
Layer small banner pieces onto large pieces.
Step 5-
Thread twine through holes to link banner pieces.

Apply banner to layout.

Hi everyone
Sharmaine here. Suzie sent me some mystery product and challenged me to use this with the theme of “Vintage”.
The product I was sent to use was a sheet of Dear Lizzy paper, Beehive Brunch, and a packet of Pink Paislee Captivating rubons.

I didn’t really have anything vintage-y to scrap and I’m not a vintage type scrapper but I loved the little challenge Suzie set.
I decided to use a photo of my wedding day, which I edited using the free online site Picnik, and give the photo a vintage feel.
I then got busy with the products from Suzie’s Love Scrappin’ store.
The first thing I made, with the paper, was a rolled paper flower.
I started by cutting a long strip out of the paper, a bit like when you tear a lolly wrapper to see how long you can make it, so I ended up with a section of paper that looked like this

I then started scrunching and folding the paper around itself

You just keep doing this until you get the flower to the size you are happy with.
You can glue or tape down the paper as you go but I usually wait till the end as it usually holds its shape well if you do it tightly.
I then added some Prima pearls to the top of the flower

I found a couple of tutorials online that show you different ways to make some rolled flowers and these are cool to watch/read so you can make a variety of flowers from paper (or fabric)

The second thing I made, ready for my page, was some decorative tape using the rubons and some masking tape.
First thing I did was take a length of masking tape and put it down on my craft table, you can put it straight onto some printer paper if you wish.

I then cut off the portion of rubon that I wanted to use and positioned this on the tape

and then just rubbed over the rubon, to transfer the image. The rubons don’t “take” to the masking tape very well so you will need to be firm and run over it again when you have finished.

I then placed my tape onto some printer paper, cut around the edge and using a scallop border punch

I gave my tape a decorative edge

The final thing I made, for my page, was using the rubons and a recycled envelope (one with the security pattern on the inside).

I used 2 images from the packet of rubons, to give another layer, before cutting out the image

I then put all these creations together, along with some black cardstock and some thickers, to make my page

and some close ups, for you, of the things I made for the page

Hi There,
I can not believe how quick this year is flying by...before you know it's Christmas time..oh my I don't want to think about that yet!
My son Dylan celebrated his 10th B'day last Saturday..his godmother made the yummiest cupcakes they were to die for.
This is Dylan blowing out his candles :)
On the scrappin front I have had a layout published in the UK-Scrapbook Magazine issue 48,I don't have a copy as yet but I do know it's on page 78.

Scrappin' up a storm & more!

Yep..I have been scrappin' up a storm,not only that I have photo's of the Love Scrappin' Shop for any local customers therefore Beaconsfield Vic area.My DH has been nice enough to dedicate the whole weekend to me, putting up my fittings..love you lots darling :))..the shop hours are 10am till 2pm ATM and only by appointment, but happy to open after hours as the shop is ajoined to my house..sliding door entrance..we still have lots to do out the front but I guess it all takes time.The store still ofcourse is based online, but I know alot of customers like to feel and touch and see products IRL...and another easy way is you can pop your order through the site and I will have it ready and bagged for you to pick up..for those that don't know I also offer EFT from the shop.

I have another layout to share..on this layout I used OA papers which are just adorable.The collection I used was The Thrift Shop.I'm really happy with this layout not only have I used updated photo's :) I made my own scrunched up flower.

How to make flowers using THICKERS!!

Hi everyone
Sharmaine here, with an idea on how to make some flowers and use up your supplies.

I made a flower using some foam thickers (I used Daydream in Pumpkin) and some scrap pattern paper.

The first thing I did was test the flower on the packaging, that was I could see if it was going to work, the placement of each ‘shape’ (I used an o for the centre and u’s for the petals) and I could also see how the pattern paper would look underneath.

Once I knew it was going to work I then pulled of each shape and placed it onto the pattern paper (I used a scrap piece of Fancy Pants paper).

After I had trimmed off the excess paper I added some Kaisercrafts Bling to the petals and centre.

I then used some distress ink and My Minds Eye stamp to make the stem of the flower on my page

One of the things I love about the Ranger distress ink is that it is super easy to clean off your stamps, I just use a baby wipe and give it an gentle wipe.
To finish off my page I added some more stamps around the photo, the title, some small strips of paper (that I stitched on), some more bling and some journaling.

Supplies used: Cardstock, Pattern paper, stamps: My Minds Eye, Ink: Ranger, Lettering: American Crafts, Bling: Kaisercrafts and Machine stitching.All from Love Scrappin'

Concertina Flowers

Time for a flower tutorial by Leanne
This time Leanne is doing Concertina Flowers..
You will need-
Patterned paper
Double sided tape
Cardstock scraps
Dimensional Magic
Buttons (optional)

Step 1
Cut 2 strips of patterned paper 12” x desired width. The wider the strip the bigger the flower.

Step 2
Score the strips at a regular interval. The wider the interval the higher the flower sits off the page.

Step 3.
Concertina fold the strips.

Step 4
Apply double sided tape to each end of one strip. Join the two strips together, maintaining the valley and peak pattern.

Step 5
Join the ends together to form a circle, once again maintaining the valley and peak pattern.

Step 6
Punch a circle from a scrap of cardstock to use as a base for the flower. Apply Dimensional Magic or another quick drying adhesive.

Step 7
Fold the concertina in on itself, so that the valleys sit flat on the cardstock disk.
Completed Flower

Ready to use on your layout-

It's been a long time...well it feels like it !I finally scrapped..yep I did it..the mojo is slowly coming back..so be nice if viewing my blog...LOL!
My desk is messy..well what's new :) ....
Want to see what I did..I had a play with the new LYB-Clothesline range
the soft colours were perfect for a photo I had of DH & I with our godson "Logan" isn't he a cutie?It's was on the day of his Christening.

And I made the roses out of scrap paper..so easy to make!Happy with the end result.

Don't fall over but I did another layout..LOL!
Yep I have 2 layouts to share,this one was papers I picked up in the US.I scrapped a photo we got at Disneyland with Mickey..brings back such great memories:)

Paper Rolling Tutorial

Hi There thanks for popping in...Our DTLeanne
has been busy working on a fantastic tutorial about paper rolling.
1.Create the base of the layout. When adhering the papers to be rolled, apply the adhesive away from the edge.

2.Using an aqua brush or paint brush, liberally dampen the edges of the paper to be rolled. Allow to sit momentarily so as the water is absorbed by the paper.

3.Using your finger gently roll the edges of the paper. You may need to run your fingernail along the edge of the paper to lift it up. The degree of rolling is personal, a rougher rolling action will result in a deeper rolled edge and more likelihood of ripping. When happy with the effect, leave page to dry ~ this will only take a few minutes.

4.After the edge is dry it can be inked. Inking when wet, can result in the ink running, which can create some lovely effects but is uncontrollable.

5.The final result after rolling and inking.

6.Add photos and embellishments

Just a quick hello to all that drop by..it's been a crazy few weeks for me, we have moved into our new house :),I lovvvee it!But not loving the unpacking..note for myself..(never move again)..lots of late nights and early mornings and sometimes feel like I'm chasing my tail,also lots of "Suz,have you seen my....and mum where's my...."I think we will all need a well deserved holiday after this adventure.Hopefully there will be some photo's to share shortly.

Easter Treat Bags

As promised here is Leanne's Easter creations using the Jillibean Soup-Egg Drop Soup Range

If you would like to attempt to make up of these cute Easter Treat Bags..here is the recipe-
EASTER TREAT BAGS SUPPLIES
• Patterned Paper
• Cardstock
• Tab Punch
• Scallop Punch
• paper scoring tool
• Doublesided tape
• Foam tape
• ¼ hand held circle punch
• Embellishments
Step-by-Step
1. Cut your Cardstock to 4 ½” x 4 ½” .
2. Score 1” around all the edge on all 4 sides.
3. Turn cardstock so it is in a diamond shape, and score from the point to where the score lines meet.
4. Crease your box on the 1 inch score lines.
5. Fold the corners in along the diagonal scores.
6. Secure the corners of the box with double sided tape.
7. Cut your Patterned Paper to 5 ½” x 11”.
8. Add double sided tape on the bottom and up one side of the back of the background paper.
9. Peel off the adhesive backing along the bottom only. Lay your box along the bottom edge of the background paper so they are even with each other.
10. Continue to wrap the box up with the paper, keeping the edges of the paper and the box even.
11. When you come to the end piece, remove the adhesive backing from the side.
12. Carefully bring your edge together on the bottom, and also up the side of the bag.
13. Now you need a strip of cardstock for the scallop on the lower edge. Cut cardstock 11" x 1”, and you need your Scallop Punch.
14. Scallop punch the whole strip of cardstock.
15. You can add faux stitching along the scallop edge.
16. Add a strip of double sided tape on the back of the scalloped piece of cardstock. Wrap it around the bag keeping the bottom even with the bag bottom. Start the strip at the back of the bag seamed edge.
17. Punch out 2 tab punches, fold in half and punch a ¼” circle in them. The hand held punch is easiest to use. You can then do your faux stitching on them.
18. Create embellishments to add to the front of the box.
19. Add double sided tape to the inside of the round tab punch pieces, do it on both sides of the inside.
20. Glue these on the front and the back of the bag, this will hold the bag closed when we tie ribbon through it.
21. Use foam tape to adhere your decorated Flurries on the front.
22. Fill your box and tie it together with ribbon.

Easter Ideas & More....

Hello There the design team have been busy creating projects for Easter..the ladies worked with the Jillibean Soup range-Egg Drop Soup
First up is Sharmaine-
Hi everyone Sharmaine here and I thought I would show you how versatile themed papers can be.
Suzie sent me a few sheets of the Jillibean Soup Easter papers, Egg Drop Soup, and I got busy.
I bought some little buckets from Spotlight and simply decorated them
This first one

I simple cut a small strip of pattern paper, adhered it to the bucket and then cut out a cute chicken and used a pop dot to add it onto the strip.

This bucket I simply filled with some strips of tissue paper and pattern paper, to make a nest, and added another cutout chick.
I thought both these buckets would make great gifts when filled with some small chocolate eggs or a toy.
I then made 3 cards
The first was following the Easter theme

I used a border punch and kept the off cut strip which I used on the next card, a birthday card.

and the cute bunny paper was just right for a new born baby card.

These papers are just perfect for baby cards because of the soft pastel colours and the cute patterns.
I then made a page that was very unEastery but still the papers were ideal

So I hope you see that these gorgeous Easter themed papers can be wonderful for any project you might have. Hope you find some inspiration in what I created and get busy crafting

MIA for a short time..

Altering Flowers

Hi everyone, Sharmaine here I thought I would show you a few ways I alter flowers to make them a little more me, to add a splash of colour or to make a product go a little further.
I purchased some Bella Fleur Prima flowers, Mango, from Love Scrappin’ awhile ago.

I thought I would use them for my page but really didn’t want the orange and yellow to overwhelm the page.
So I undid the brad and pulled the flowers apart
I then used my sewing machine and stitched lines through the middle to refasten the flowers

This allowed me to not only add a splash of blue to my page but also gave me some brads to use at a later date.

I also used this stitching technique with a Prima Lollipop flower, pulling it apart, stitching circles and re-adding the upper layer as I went. I then added a Sassafras Lass brad, replacing the original one.

You can also use hand stitching if you don’t have a sewing machine, I think some French knots or blanket stitching on flowers is just gorgeous.

Another way to alter your flowers is to use ink or mist.
For this one I used only one layer from a Prima Gallery Rose flower and spray it with glimmer mist, topping it with a button

And one last example for making the most of your flowers is using a Green Tara flower and cutting it in half

By adding a cut flower on the sides of you page you can direct the eye towards your photo and add interest to your design.

Flowers are a great way to add depth and dimension to you page, without little effort. These are just some examples of how you can use flowers, altering them and getting more out of these wonderful embellishments.

Altering Chipboard & Embossing

Leanne has been busy making some gorgeous cards and would love to share her techniques that she used.
You will need-
Kut It Out-Chipboard Heart Set
Little Yellow Bicycle-Sweet Love Double sided paper
Kaiser Rhinestones
Embossing Powder
Glitter
Ink pad

Bazzill Scalloped

Bazzill Dotted Swiss Texture
PVA Glue
Technique 1 ~Adding Sparkle
1-Colour chipboard element with Ink

2-Add desired rhinestones and then coat chipboard with PVA glue

3-Sprinkle chipboard liberally with glitter. Gentle press on glitter before tapping off excess.

4-Finished sparkly chipboard heart.

5-Element incorporated into a project.

Technique 2- Heat Embossing
Chipboard elements, Inks ~ embossing and stamping, Script stamp, embossing powder
1-Colour chipboard element with ink.

2-Stamp desired image onto inked chipboard.

3-Coat chipboard with embossing ink and then cover liberally with embossing powder.

4-Use a heat gun to melt the embossing powder. This step may need to be repeated several times.

5-Finished heat embossed chipboard elements.

6-Element incorporated into a project

Enjoying the break

I can't believe it's already the second week of January..SLOWWW DOWNNN time..LOL!
I'm enjoying my sleep ins :D..late nights..and I'm finding I have time for scrappin..which is great!
We also took the kids to the movies a few times to see Alvin & the chipmunks-the squeakquel & Avatar 3D..great film highly recommend it.Apart from that we are having a well deserved relaxed break.Which I'm loving.On a scrapping note I finished my layout today.Using Jenni Bowlin papers

I did some masking as well using glimmermist.

the photo was taken Christmas Day apart from Hayden not smiling I love the photo..I think after so many photo's he was over it! :)

First post for 2010

My first post this year...&
I have scrapped my first layout for 2010.I made myself a promise to tidy up my work area,I put all my last year layouts in albums only took me a year :D..and now my next thing is to develop my US pics.What a great start to the year..hopefully I will feel more inspired to scrap my photo's.. I lost a little inspiration the last few months..but I think it's come back..This is what I did-

It's been awhile....

It's been awhile since my last update...what's been happening?
I have been busy running around getting quotes on house stuff like cesar stone,kitchens,matching colours for the house all that sort of stuff...abit stress full at the moment with lots going on and hoping that all the colours we have chosen will all match..the house is coming along nicely we have plaster and I must say I am SOOOO EXCITED!!My DH has done such a great job considering he is not a builder by trade..
I will share some pics soon!
On a scrapping note I would like to share that Anna Koziarek has finished up her contract with Love Scrappin'.I would love to Thank Anna for her time with Love Scrappin',her layouts are truly amazing and I wish her all the very best in the future .All the best Anna xxx

Shock Horror I scrapped...

It's seems sooo long..life has been busy ,crazy,lots going on..so unfortunately scrappin has come to a hault for me..I find it hard to sit down and actually scrap even though I am hanging to play with all the new papers coming in ..for me at the moment is time(Not enough of it).Our house is coming along...yes still coming along we have the roof going up this week and brickies have probably another 2 weeks then we are at Lock Up...Woohooo!!!
Anyway want to see what I finished..I used the Little Yellow Bicycle -25 days of Christmas papers,which you can check out HERE with the Kut It Out -Christmas Bracket Set which I designed with the Kut It Out Ladies.You can check that out HERE .

Prima Blossom Roses

We have another fantastic technique this time by the lovely Leanne
This is a technique I have seen around and tried and really liked the result.
YOU WILL NEED-

4 x Prima blossoms
Glue (fast, clear drying)
Scissors
1. Apply a dob of glue to the centre of each blossom. Fold the petals of the first blossom together. Pinch the centre together.

2. Cut off the very point at the base of the blossom. Allow to dry for a few minutes.

3. Place blossom in the centre of the 2nd blossom and bring petals of 2nd blossom around central blossom.
Allow to dry for a few minutes.

5. Repeat step 4 two more times. Allow drying time each time. Set aside to dry thoroughly

6. Finished rose/s.

7. Close up of finished roses on project.

Masking Technique

Another technique class this time with Sharmaine.
HI Sharmaine here
Thought I would show you how to use the negative space made when masking with glimmer mist.
Firstly start by placing a chipboard shape on your cardstock, for this example I used a Buzz and Bloom small Botanica flower and plain white copy paper but for the layout below I used Bazzill cardstock.

I then sprayed over it with Glimmer Mist, Love Scrappin’ stocks a lovely range of colours

Once it has dried, you can speed up the process with a heat gun or dab with paper towel or tissue. You could use the print as it is but I thought we would take it a further step by cutting out around the negative space

I then sprayed the other side, ie the one that doesn’t have the negative space on it, with a contracting colour,

making sure that the sides get sprayed so the colour ‘seeps’ through to the negative space side. This will Highlight the shape and negative space and allow it to ‘lift’ from the page.
I then adhered the flower to my page using foam dots to give the flower height and give an extra dimension to the page.

I also added a little bling in the shape of a scrolly swirl, to add emphasis to this embellishment and draw the eye to the photo.

This is a fun technique and it’s possibilities are endless and a wonderful way to use your supplies and create gorgeous embellishments for your pages.

Ghost Stamping

We have a Ghost Stamping on acrylics technique class by Anna Koziarek.
This is what you will need-
1. acrylic block or base; I used a fragment by Ranger
2. alcohol inks (e.g. Adirondacks by Ranger)
3. alcohol ink applicator (e.g. by Ranger)
4. a stamp (not very detailed)
5. archival ink (e.g Versafine or Ranger)
6. damp cloth (I used baby tissue)

- squeeze little drops of alcohol inks on the applicator

- tab the acrylic to cover it completely with alcohol inks until you receive the desired colour mix; let dry for a minute or so

- thouroughly ink the stamp with archival ink

- stamp on the acrylic

-using a damp cloth gently remove the ink from the acrylic; try to do it at once (if you repeat it you may spoil the stamped image)

- your piece of acrylic is ready to use as embellishment :)
If you are not satisfied with the effect you may use Adirondack Blending Solution to remove alcohol inks from the piece of acrylic and try once again :)

Hayds turned 7

My baby boy turned 7 on the 15th Sept ,we celebrated yesterday at the Oasis pools with a pool party the boys had a ball..Here's some pics!

Hayden also lost his first tooth ...

And said "I hope the tooth fairy leaves me $50"...What The!!What ever happen to a couple of dollars, if I got that much as a kid I probably would've pulled out all my teeth..LOL!
And I did a layout..I know shock horror just a quick one..I used some puff paint on the paper and melted a little of the sticker and photo while using the heatgun ..woops :(

Yeah I had some time to scrap...
I scrapped a photo of Hayds when I think he was 4,I thought it was such a cute photo of him..my little munchkin.

I used the October Afternoon Papers,AC daydream thickers,AC delight thickers and AC daiquiri thickers.
I'm happy with it...
The boys Auskick finished last week...they had there presentations which they both were very proud of themselves, as were we of them.
